Start of the Hamburg Summer School

This year, HISS will use the examples of Australia, China, and Germany to examine how increasing diversity affects education and social participation and what strategies and discourses have been developed in response to linguistic diversity. Despite their different sociopolitical traditions in dealing with migration, the challenges and responses to linguistic diversity in the three countries share many commonalities. Chief among these is that linguistic diversity remains a central factor of social exclusion in the three countries.

It will take place from July 11 to August 5, 2022. Registration opens on February 23.

Estimated program hours: 25-30 hours per week (contact time); credits: up to 8 credits (ECTS); language of instruction: English.
