VR CUIR 2.0: PhD Daniela Rosendo „An Ecofeminist Manifesto“
The lecture aims to present a proposal on how to achieve social, environmental, and interspecies justice, based on an ecofeminist paradigm, from an intersectional and decolonial perspective of justice from the Global South. Based on principles such as singularity, vulnerability, and interdependency, it requires the expansion of the moral and political community, in order to embrace both humans and animals and nature, and disrupt all isms of domination (speciesism, racism, sexism, among others). Finally, I will defend a care-sensitive ecofeminist quilt that brings together a set of principles and elements that guide an ecofeminist praxis that enforces justice for all.
Daniela Rosendo is a feminist human rights defender with experience in, popular and Human Rights Education (HRE), academic research, teaching in undergraduate and graduate programs, and advocacy at the national and international levels. She has graduated in Law, holds a Master’s degree, and a Ph.D. in ethics and political philosophy. Recently, she has finished a post-doctoral research at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC/Brazil). Rosendo is the author of several articles, chapters, and books, especially on Ecofeminism, and is a member of national and regional networks and research projects.
